“I have to ask,” a pen springs to a close between his fingers. “Have you taken cocaine?” His office is too big. There’s a partly dismantled examining table next to me, legs splayed, trying its best to prove it can still stand when all it really wants is someone to shout ‘Food?’ and to call it a night. Odd watercolours of Manhattan hang between strips of peeling wallpaper, the buildings soft and pathetic. I look at his face, then rest my eyes somewhere on his legs. I start to trace the faint dogtooth pattern back and forth. It makes me sleepy. His pen clicks again. “Cocaine?” I look up. “No.” He makes a line on his paper, then presses the nib on the next question. The ink bleeds into a little spot, disfiguring the first few letters of whatever word used to be there. “Ever snorted anything; long-time smoker–” “No.” My teeth grapple my tongue. “I’ve never smoked, never taken drugs.” He marks another line. “Have you bumped your head; been hit in the face?” I release my tongue

My eyes flick up as they latch onto you like webs caught in the wind. In an instant I’m hexed, tied up with your whiskey blinks and misty southern breath. I’m breathing shallow, like woodwind with open holes; defective, and empty of melody. I take a drag, and watch as your eyes slip down from my lips and onto my neck, smoothing down to touch my waist as if you were stroking away creases, glitter; last night’s powder. You swipe back up my body and move closer, and with every one-second-step you make I count them like sheep, trying to lull my heart back into a transient flutter. Rule one: They are customers. we rose and fell like waves brushing stones; lulling for a minute, then pulling back, on clothes, hair, patience, time; our eyes would lock and we'd fall again. we never thought that lungs could be pregnant, stifling still breath; or that eyes, swollen with tears, could drop, beat, fall - because i was the girl who thought she was a woman; when she fell in love with the boy, who never became the man.

by the time you begin to miss her, she'll already be lost. she is breathing like woodwind, plucking stray hairs like harp-strings- but no melody is sung; and no melody is heard. you played hard-to-get with the porcelain girl, as wisps of her neglected words haemorrhage, swallowed down by deaf ears. you wanted a chase; but she's been caught before you've begun, and now she's choking back her tears to know she's not alone, as you bite through the ribbons and lick the innocence away from the girl that's just pretty enough, before she's forgotten, completely.

clambering lips tumble over each other like little deer stumbling into the headlights, where blushing cupid's bows snap shut at the slightest whisper of a touch; as summer's broken blossom whistles into moss, suicidal and free-falling at a twist of the wind, dripping through honeyed-hands and trickling down wrists. words nuzzle breath, the air staved of acoustics that choreograph faces closer; watching as quivering eyes thrust new-born hope, where restless hearts knock beneath a web of ribs, screaming silently as bodies are poured into the stitches of aphrodite's venomo(us) fly-trap.

i drape my body into the water and my bones float away from my skin. hipbones jutting like icebergs, the concave of my stomach drowning as water cries down my waterfall-stoned ribs. absolution ripples across stained wrists, delicate kisses pawing clawless as my heartbeat barely touches the water. i wring my eyes and cobweb them shut, clumsily stepping blind from the water. my fingertips curl desperately as i draw my nails down marble, hounding artifice to smother my ruined body. i meticulously fold and wrap the cloth spinning a corset of crosshairs that stifle my lungs of capacity, and others eyes of realisation. tears me

..and that's my second year of university filed away..how on earth is it going this fast?!! after taking (what seemed to become) an indefinite hiatus from dA, it's so lovely to be back ^.^ it's been a pretty exciting few months; where my accolades lie in an alcohol and guilty-food fuelled storytelling performance to welcome in midsummer, filming on set for les mis, (which was insanely ridiculous and beautiful at the same time, despite eternally creasing my skin from wearing corsets and too many underskirts..) and performing as an over-enthusiastic italian artist with a penchant for red frames..it's been a serious year, honestly. aand now it
